The next-gen Frontier was introduced in 2022, and we're confident that this latest model involves focused updates rather than a total redesign. Rumor has it that a new palette of colors will be available, freshly-styled alloy wheels will appear, and the full roster of available features and accessories will expand.

It may be a rumor, but some sources speculate that another engine could join the ranks. Rather than replace the exceptional 3.8-liter V-6 and its best-in-class horsepower output,¹ this additional engine could be a smaller unit, poised as a more affordable entry-level configuration.

The 2023 Nissan Frontier should ride on the same superbly-strong fully-boxed ladder frame. With it, the smooth yet robust nine-speed automatic transmission, a Dana® rear axle, and available tow-haul modes, the Frontier could offer a competitive towing capacity.

Specifically, the 2022 model can tow up to 6,720 pounds² when properly equipped and offer a maximum payload capacity of 1,610 pounds when properly equipped. With these specs in hand, the 2023 Nissan Frontier can handle just about any job.
